Well now...
I don't think I ever truly realized just how much anime and manga I possess until I had to type it all out into two separate lists. I swear, it took me over 3.5 hours to do just the anime section. I had done up my list of manga earlier last night and just kind of put the titles in and carried on down the list until I had finished. I went that extra step and confirmed the starting production dates for all the anime I have, though. When I have some more spare time I'll likely do the same for the manga list. For reference purposes, I'd like you to note that every manga and anime located in my collection are proper physical copies that were not copied or downloaded, but bought from a real store with real money.
It kind of made me a little sad going through the list of anime. There's a few I've put off watching for years now and the longer I wait, the more it seems like I'll never find the time. On the other hand, browsing the list as I typed it out brought me some fond memories of my favourites, which I feel I've neglected for some time. Elfen Lied? Fuck yes. Higurashi When They Cry? Definitely a favourite. Trinity Blood? Well, if nothing else, it has it's moments. I feel like I'm going to soon be adding Akira to my collection. Surprising I don't have it yet, considering I've watched it a literal metric fuck-ton of times over the last 10 years. I enjoyed the manga when I read it, but I honestly felt that the manga drew the story out a little too long, and the film version was a little more to my liking: straightforward and to-the-point.
Now I'll wrestle with my inner-most feelings in regards to whether or not I should start watching Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. I have the original series, and I read the complete manga for it. I, like many others, was very disappointed with the outcome. Too many changes, a great many liberties taken. It's my understanding that Brotherhood follows much more closely to the manga than the original series did, which is why I want to watch it. Anybody seen it and care to enlighten me as to whether it's worth the energy to locate and watch or not?
